A PAVILION used by mental health charity Mind is to be improved with a £14,000 grant.
Mind has been based at the former bowls pavilion, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, for five years.
The building, in St Oswald's Park, has been enhanced considerably since it became the charity's drop-in centre. It is open five days a week
The grant, from the NHS, has been secured to carry out alterations to the building.
Chairman Bill Blenkinsopp said: "One of the rooms is very dull, with only small windows at the top. We are proposing to put a larger window in, with a shutter, which will enhance the building."
Sheila Mlatilik, the Mayor of Great Aycliffe, paid tribute to the "21st Century angels" who run the centre.
