STEWARDS are needed to help with crowd control at the Newcastle Love Parade.
Training for the nine-hour stint on Saturday, July 21, will be provided for volunteers, who must be aged over 17.
Following the success of the Leeds Love Parade last year, which attracted more than 250,000 people, the city will welcome what is set to be the dance music event of the year.
The biggest dance DJs, the UK's premier clubs, and thousands of clubbers will be brought together by the Radio 1 event - all free of charge.
The centrepiece of this year's Love Parade will be a huge parade which will weave through the streets of Newcastle.
Ged Bell, lead councillor for the Love Parade, said: "We are delighted that the Freemen of the City have agreed that the festival can be held on the Hoppings site."
Anyone interested in working as a steward should contact Bill Oshinibosi on 0191-232 8520, ext 27006.
