TEN people have received awards for their work to care for carers.
Sunderland North MP Bill Etherington presented the awards during the annual Carers Workshop at Wearmouth Community Development Trust, Sunderland.
The event was part of the National Carers' Week celebrations which continue until Friday. The winners, all from Sunderland, were nominated by carers in the city.
The workshop, Taking Care of Carers in Sunderland, included a keynote speech by Gavin McGregor from the Northern Regional Office on the recently launched Carers Manifesto
