POLICE are checking through records of people missing from home in the Bishop Auckland area after a woman's body was found yesterday afternoon.
The body was lying in a field behind the St Helen Auckland industrial estate and appeared to have been there for some time.
It was taken to Bishop Auckland General Hospital where tests are expected to establish the cause of death.
