Pete Sampras today launched the defence of his Wimbledon title in brilliant style.
The American top seed thumped Spaniard Francisco Clavet 6-4 7-6 6-4 on the Centre Court.
Sampras, 29, is setting out to equal Bjorn Borg's record of five singles crowns in a row in SW19.
