A DRAMA group run by adults and children is under the spotlight for its work.
The Woodhouse Acting Silly Harry's (Wash) youth theatre has been awarded an Investors in Children award in recognition of the way young people are involved in every aspect of running the organisation.
As well as helping to adapt plays, they also attend committee meetings and sit on the management committee.
Parents and the young actors gathered at the Woodhouse Close Church community centre in Bishop Auckland on Thursday to celebrate the award.
Anthony Mawer, from Warwick Road School, was awarded a certificate for work experience at the centre.
Jane Crawford set up the group shortly after 1997 after leaving drama school.
She said: "I'm very much a believer in allowing children to speak for themselves and put across their point of view."
