MUSICIANS from across Europe will be in the North-East next month for an international music festival.
Following the success of last year's inaugural event, the Musike International Academy will return to Durham City for a series of masterclasses and concerts.
The festival was founded by the Northern Sinfonia's artistic director, pianist and conductor, Jean-Bernard Pommier.
The event will give audiences a chance to explore classics and little-known works with world class soloists, including oboist Maurice Bourge and violist Bruno Pasquier.
In addition to the five artists in residence, there will be performances by 30 young musicians from some of the world's best music schools, including the Julliard School, in New York and the Paris and Moscow Conservatoires.
There will be a series of lunchtime concerts and masterclasses, as well as three chamber music concerts.
The final orchestral concert will take place on September 1, in Durham Cathedral, and will feature all of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos.
The festival will run from August 23 to September 2.
