YORKSHIRE Water has been praised for delivering one of the best services in the country, according to industry regulator Ofwat.
Only one other company performed better, despite last year's flooding and fuel crises, as well as the foot-and-mouth epidemic having an impact.
Yorkshire Water's managing director, Kevin Whiteman, said: "We have one of the best records in the industry and this is shown in Ofwat's report.
"We have seen huge investment in our capital programme and the CoastCare project, which has gained widespread approval from both customers and marine groups, is a major success for the company."
