ELDERLY residents are protesting against the proposed closure of their post office this morning
They say the post office, in Oxford Road, Thornaby, is also a lifeline for residents and mothers with young children on the heavily-populated area.
Stockton South MP Dari Taylor said residents were dismayed at the plan to move the post office to the Mandale estate.
Ms Taylor said: "Residents must make their views known on this issue, and I will support them in this.
"It appears that the elderly and their needs have been ignored.
"I have written to the Post Office expressing my objection, and would strongly urge residents to do likewise."
