FAME beckons for six teenage thespians from Teesside.

The youngsters are treading the boards at the Edinburgh Festival with two 30-minute plays.

A local motor dealership has stepped in to ensure the group's appearance at The Fringe runs smoothly.

Twins Amy and Lucy Cockerline, 17, Leah Duffield, 15, and 16-year-olds Luke Jameson and Craig Warburton are appearing in the plays Two Daft Lasses In a Boat and A Cat In The Road.

They will be joined by 17-year-old Alicia Bloundele when she returns from holidays in the United States.

The six are members of Middlesbrough Little Theatre Juniors. The plays were penned by local writer Jan McBride, while her husband, Jack, will direct the back-to-back performances.

Car dealer Rycroft has provided the aspiring stage stars with a Mercedes van to transport their stage sets to Edinburgh.
