AN appeal has been made in the North-East by police concerned for the welfare of a missing man from the South-West.
Matthew John McGlone was last seen in his home town of Plymouth, in Devon, on August 12.
His Ford Focus car was found in the car park at Washington's Galleries shopping centre on Tuesday, having been left there the previous Thursday.
Devon and Cornwall Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen Mr McGlone, or who knows of his whereabouts, to come forward.
A force spokesman said: "His family is concerned as the disappearance is out of character."
Mr McGlone is described as 6ft, of medium build, with mousy brown hair, and he sometimes wears glasses.
