A NEW centre that is helping hundreds of people with disabilities to live a better and more independent life is planning an open day for carers next week.
Gateshead Borough Council's Valley Centre opened recently to meet an increased need for equipment and adaptations that are being provided to residents.
The Team Valley centre's open day, on Thursday, next week, will show carers and people with disabilities the range of equipment available. There will be demonstrations of equipment to show how people with physical and sensory disabilities can have more independence.
It will be held at the Valley Centre, Princes Park, Princeway, Team Valley from 10.30am to 3pm. For more details call 0191-433 5540.
