Trimdon maintained their 100 per cent record when they won their fifth successive game defeating Hebburn 12-1.

There was no stopping the Trimdon lads and Liam Parsons and Kit Luke in particular. Parsons rifled five goals, Luke helped himself to four and the misery of Hebburn was completed by Dale Elliott with a brace of goals and Ross Parkin who scored once.

Herrington lead the table and they too have a 100 per cent record having played one match more than Trimdon. Their latest victims were South Moor who they defeated 8-0. Craig Ellison (3), Ben Gawthorpe (2), Darren Liddle, Callum Duncan and Jeff Hepple all struck.

There were also eight goals when Lambton Street and Springboard met but unlike the game between South Moor and Herrington, the points were shared.

After taking an early lead Lambton Street were 4-2 down before a late rally earned them a 4-4 draw. Shaun King scored twice with David Snowden and Andy Snowden also on target for Lambton Street, while Carl Chapman hit a hat-trick and Mark Newby also scored for Springboard.

Washington Dunlop defeated Sacriston 4-1 with goals by Stephen Middlemiss, Ryan Mouter, James Kerr and Paul Hanson. Andrew Collinson was Sacriston's only scorer.

Lumley's game at Wardley was postponed and to date Wardly have fulfilled just one fixture. Another game to be called off was between Marsden and South Shields.

Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

Crook produced an outstanding performance when they visited Cleveland Hall and won 7-1. The goals flowed with Hackworth and Smith both hitting the net on two occasions. Graham, Burns and Surtees completed the scoring for Crook and Donnelly grabbed a consolation goal for Cleveland Hall.

Newcastle East End were also in scoring form in their game with West Denton who they defeated 5-1 with strikes on Turnbull (2), Bates (2) and Singh. Helm was West Denton's only marksman.

Walker Central and Redheugh were involved in a seven-goal thriller which Walker won 4-3. Ward bagged a brace of goals and others to find the net were Macdonald and Scott while for Redheugh Jeffers, Horn and Oughosa hit the goal.

Despite a goal by Snaith, Dunston Fed lost 3-1 to visitors Consett whose match winners were Macdonald, Robertson and Craggs.

Hartburn Juniors

Hartburn Under-13s started badly at Nunthorpe Athletic but went on to win 7-4. They conceded a goal in the opening 15 minutes but soon equalised with a lob by Robbie Cockin. Nunthorpe failed to recognise the pace of Cockin who soon put the away side 2-1 up, this was followed by a goal direct from a corner by Nicky Pearson to give Hartburn a 3-1 lead. Cockin grabbed his hat-trick with another chip. Cockin went on to net a second hat-trick, taking Hartburn to 7-1. But the Hartburn defence went to sleep, allowing Nunthorpe to pull back to 7-4.

New County North Durham Youth League

Redheugh made progress in the Edward Wanless Cup when they defeated Waldridge Park 5-2.

Tony Thirkell struck a hat-trick and the other goals were scored by Andrew Curry and David Smith. Andrew Armstrong and David Middlemiss replied for the Cestrians.

In the Under-16 Division A, Leam Rangers had the better of Sandhole winning 6-2 when Daniel Graham (3), Graeme McAtear (2) and Andrew Houghton all found the net.

The only game played in Division B resulted in a 2-2 draw between Newton Aycliffe and Wear Valley.

At Under-17 Division A level, Consett won 2-1 at Stocksfield when Daniel Craggs scored twice, one with a penalty, while Graeme Watson was on the mark for Stocksfield.

West Denton finished 4-1 in front of Annfield Plain and Sandhole defeated Wardley 3-1 with goals from Ronnie Ellis (2) and Kevin Reagan.

In Division B Gateshead Fell hit Cleveland Hall 5-0 and Hebburn secured a similar result when they were at home to Haydon Bridge.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

CONSETT suffered a huge defeat when they visited Chopwell in the Under-11 division - losing 7-1.

Consett's only marksman was Anthony Watson, while for Chopwell Carl Armstrong hit a hat-trick and Pardeep Kang hit a couple of the other goals.

Whickham Fellside Rangers recorded the highest score of the day when they put eight goals past Swalwell, who replied just once.

The Leam Rangers forwards were also on song defeating Winlaton 7-0.

In the Under-13 section Consett had the better of Cooper Hall when Amin Looney scored twice and Matthew Boots was another player to bag a brace of goals in Redheugh's 5-0 defeat of Cleveland Hall.

Shaun Seagers also bagged a brace of goals in Blaydon's victory over Chopwell.

At Under-14 level Shaun Henderson struck four times in Consett's 5-1 victory against Cleveland Hall and a couple of goals from Thomas Wilson featured in Stocksfield success at the expense of Sandhole.

At Under-15 level Consett put seven goals past Swalwell when Andrew Whitfield rifled four goals and Scott Reay hit a couple. Jamie Johnson recorded a hat-trick for Swalwell but still ended on the losing side.

Chester-le-Street Town

THE Under18s' new striker David Tait maintained his record of scoring in each of his side's matches to help his side keep their 100 per cent winning league start.

The Cestrians won 3-2 at Grove Coles in a closely fought contest.

The squad had been hit badly by injuries and suspensions by several key players at the start of this campaign, but those called upon have gelled well and ensured the club's good start to the season.

In a difficult contest Chester found themselves a goal down at half-time but rallied a minute into the second half when Tait finished superbly after being set clear by Thorn.

The home side battled back and restored their lead before David Hope cleverly chipped the advancing keeper for a fine equaliser for the blue and white hoops.

Craig Thorn scored a fine winner for Chester after good work by Tait as the Cestrians finished strongly.

Evett Redkin had an outstanding game for Chester-le-Street.

l On Sunday the Under-17s and Under-18s are both at home in the first round of the league cup.

The Under-17s play South Tyneside (Riverside 1pm), the U18s play Blackfyne at Moor Park with an unusual 10.30am kick off.

Neither Under-17s or Under-18s will be competing in the qualifying rounds of the Durham Youth Cup on October 28 after both sides received byes to the first round.

Coxhoe Athletic

THE Under-16s won their County Cup tie against Shildon Juniors 2-1. Steven Grady and Neil Charlton grabbed Coxhoe's important goals.

Easington District

THE club had mixed results last weekend in their three age categories. The Under-10s team drew 1-1 with Chester Athletic Ravens in the Russell Foster Tyne and Wear League. One goal from Chris Bell was enough to ensure a point in a keenly fought game.

The same team then hammered Shildon Reds 5-0. Jonathon Davie found the net twice and his goals were followed by further strikes from Scott McDowell, Martin Atkinson and Sean McAndrew. At Under-11s level Easington were beaten 4-1 at Riverside Boys. The visitors' goal came from Adam Charlton.

South Moor Juniors

Blackfyne

The Under-8s ran out 6-1 winners against Cleveland Hall Yellows. A great team performance was headed by Andrew Turnbull who was voted man of the match and also scored twice, the other scorers being Dean Tyers (2), Connor Burns an Mark Shaw with.

The Under-9s won 1-0 in a hard-fought game against Sandhole. Sam Taylor scored the only goal of the game and Rob McConnell was the man of the match
