A FREED prisoner ended up back behind bars after celebrating his release with a few drinks too many, a court was told yesterday.
A custody sergeant at Stockton police station, who dealt with Derek Lowe, 28, described him as drunk as a skunk, said Keith Leigh, defending. He told Teesside magistrates: "Lowe was not even fit enough to be taken out of his cell for 12 hours.
Lowe , who had 258 previous offences, was caught on CCTV cameras as he and another man burgled a builders' merchants in Riverside Road, Stockton and again kicking in a glass door at the Famous Army Stores in Stockton.
Lowe of Crescent Road, Middlesbrough, was jailed for four months after he pleaded guilty to both charges
