BRITISH Telecom is linking up with the Wear Valley Disability Access Forum to offer an equipment service for people with poor eyesight or hearing problems.
A range of communication aids will be on show at the forum's office at Crook Business Centre after the launch of the service at an open day on November 15.
Volunteers have been trained to use the equipment and can give impartial advice. Aids are not directly for sale, but orders can be made.
Mike Bagley, from BT's age and disability team, will be at the launch, which runs from 10am to 4pm. Groups are invited to book a time to visit by telephoning (01388) 763994
