COMMUNITY groups in east Cleveland are more than £6,000 richer thanks to the latest round of grants from the Cleveland Community Foundation.
The foundation is a vehicle for individuals, families, companies and trusts throughout Teesside to make bequests, which can benefit the community. The total fund now stands at more than £7m.
Grants that have been awarded in east Cleveland include £500 to Coatham House, a Redcar charity which provides supported accommodation to homeless young people; £1,000 to the Harwal Action Group, a community initiative which aims to respond to derelict common land in the west Coatham part of Redcar; Boosbeck Youth Club; and Saltburn Budokan, a judo club which has been given £500 towards its first national competition
