THE Yorkshire Pantry has received £150,000 to help its members recover from the impact of foot-and-mouth.

Mr John Partridge, project officer for the regional association of food and drink producers and processors, said it was a tremendous incentive for the 140-plus members.

The grant will help a number of new projects planned to promote and increase demand for regional food and drink in conjunction with the Yorkshire tourist board and other regional bodies. It involves attending consumer shows, regional and national trade exhibitions, and the production of a food guide, catering competitions and a regional recipe book.

The money is part of a £3m package from Food from Britain to restore confidence in the food and drink industry.
