Emergency Services League - Durham HQ kept the pressure on leaders Frankland with their sixth straight win.

Tony Insall scored all his side's goals in their 3-2 win at Langbaurgh for whom Darren Henry and Mick Campbell got the goals.

Frankland stay top courtesy of a thrilling 4-3 win at Derwentside. Andy McConnell's rare goal gave his team an interval lead but Richie Huskinson soon levelled for Frankland. Kevin Maddick restored Derwentside's lead only for Richard Knott to level. Peter Anderson and Paul Walton put the prison officers 4-2 up before Phil Donnelly pulled a goal back in a tense finale.

Newcastle West ended Easington's winning run in another exciting 4-3 win. Chris Whitfield, Asa Morris and Alan Turner got three of Newcastle's goals. Dave Oakes showed that he was not infallible by fluffing a penalty. But he made amends by scoring the last-minute winner. Keith James, Steve Hawkes and Marty McArdle got the goals for disconsolate Easington.

Pointless Durham and Chester-le-Street bagged all three points over fellow strugglers Sedgefield Met as they ran out 4-1 winners.

Dave Oliver (2) and Dave Taylor (2) got Durham's goals while Chris Dickinson got Sedgefield's solitary score. In a Northumbria derby Washington entertained Saints, losing 3-0 to leave Washington both pointless and goalless. Saints' goals came from Ian Stephen (2) and Paul Barrett.

In yet another close match, Stockton beat Darlington 3-2 with goals by Liam Denny, Paul Ryder and an own goal.

The North-East Christian Fellowship League

Whitley Bay Churches continue to lead Division One with a 100 per cent record after four matches. Russell Brookes and Steve Walker put them 2-0 up before Metro Churches Sunderland came back and tied the match 2-2. Late in the game Russell Brookes grabbed the winner for Whitley Bay.

Monkwearmouth Christian FC got off to a great start in their match against Heworth Christian Fellowship with Adam Burns and Steve Dix on on the scoresheet before half-time. Burns got his second after the break only for Heworth to come back with a David Fitters' brace. Mark Ward stretched Monkwearmouth's lead to 4-2. Gary Harkness pulled a goal back for Heworth. A hat-trick from Consett Methodist Church's Andrew Murray was not enough to stop his team going down 7-4 to Jesmond Parish Church.

Andy Widdrington, Ben Chambers and David Angiers grabbed Jesmond's goals while John Herdman was the other Consett scorer. Mark Waugh scored on the 85th minute for Stakeford to claim their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over Heaton Hearts.

Goalless at half-time it took three second half minutes for Paul Gough to open the scoring for Stranton Saints. Jamie Arthur made it 2-0 only for Ben Oliver to pull a goal back for Airport Church Newcastle. Gough's second to make it 3-1 was cancelled out immediately by Newcastle's Mark Hutch. However, any thought of a revival was cut short in the final minute when Jon Henson scored to make it 4-2.

In the Second Division, Ryton Churches are riding high after an 8-4 win at Whitley Bay Baptist Church. Ryton scorers were Michael McKenna (3), Dean Swanston (2), Richard Geddes, Graeme Dixon and Mark Cowen. David Hope grabbed a hat-trick for Whitley with Neil Orr scoring the other. A second half revival by Jesmond Parish Athenians denied Saint Aidens Chapel Castington some much needed points as they went down went down 4-1. Goals from St Aidan's Clinton Storey and Jesmond's Ian Tew levelled the scores at 1-1 before the break. However, strikes from Jesmond's Jason Alexander, Keith Chambers and a second for Tew finished off St Aidan's. A Richard Coxon goal in the 40th minute was enough for Saint Peter's to take three points in a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough Baptists.

Goals from Marc Dale, Ben Laing, and David McQuillan ensured a 3-1 win for Yarm Emmanuel over Lanchester Chapel. Keith James got Lanchester's consolation
