Junior round-up - Whitley Tomahawks are still without a victory in the English Junior (Under 16) North A League.

The latest defeat came from an 8-4 home defeat at the hands of Kingston Crunch at Hillheads.

Kingston unbeaten and league leaders were ahead in the third minute and doubled the lead on the powerplay at 04.20. By the end of the first period Crunch had added a third.

Two goals early in the middle session increased the visitors advantage to 5-0. Tomahawks reduced the deficit at 25.11 with Kingston having two players sitting in the penalty box. The goal came from Rob Wilson at 25.11 and at 26.49. David Barrett pulled back a second also on the powerplay.

Kingston's David Phillips disputed Whitley's second goal and received misconduct penalties to which he took no further part in the game. Thomas Hewison struck a third for Whitley after Kingston had hit a short-handed goal.

Two further strikes came for Kingston before Ricky Box completed the scoring with Whitley's fourth goal of the game at 44.38.

Whitley Mohawks were beaten 14-0 at Sheffield Stormers in the English Pee-Wee (Under 14) North A League.

Sunderland Commanches travelled to Telford Tiger-Cubs for an Under-14 challenge match. They were ahead in the sixth minute with a goal from captain Richard Westgarth and he added a second five minutes later.

Commanches, second in the league, converted a powerplay at 24.40 for a 3-0 lead through Callum Hewitt. Westgarth completed his hat-trick two minutes later and he scored his fourth after 31 minutes. Telford completed the scoring with a consolation strike in the 35th minute.

Sunderland Cherokees were delayed in traffic and arrived 30 minutes after the scheduled start of their English Bantam (Under 12) North A League tie at Blackburn Sparrowhawks. The first period was played stop clock with running time for the final period.

Cherokees had little or no warm-up before the match begun and no surprise that they were 4-0 down at the interval. James Moutrey opened Sunderland's account after 26 minutes. Blackburn replied with two further goals for a 6-1 victory.
