DURHAM students are set to experience the latest in clubbing.

Mobile phone giant Orange's enjoymusicv.2 tour is heading for Durham University's Student Union, one of 40 campuses it is visiting across the country.

The tour, making its second stop in Durham, marries innovative and interactive technology with music played by top DJs.

When it visits Durham on Wednesday the DJs will be The Stanton Warriors and Deadly Avenger, supported by Norman Jay.

The event will showcase the interactive technologies that Orange has used at the legendary Manumission club in Ibiza, this country's summer festivals and the Q Awards.

These include giant text messaging boards - dancers can send text messages to the DJs - a glow wall, entertainment pods, WAP games and video postcard facilities.

Denise Lewis, Orange's group director of corporate affairs, said: "The enjoymusicv.2 tour will continue to set the standard and define the quality of music and entertainment on campus.

"Orange has created a truly unique environment that demonstrates how technology can enhance and enable the clubbing experience.'
