MORE people are gaining jobs in east Cleveland thanks to help from an Internet service.
Performance figures for the Redcar and Cleveland Online Project show that 18 people gained employment through using resources set up by the project, and more than 1,000 people are using the service across the area.
This includes more than 800 people from the key client group of single parents, people from ethnic minorities, the unemployed, the over- 60s and people who need help with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
The project was set up in April and established four UK Online centres across the borough - at South Bank Women's Centre, Whale Hill Employment Centre, Terminus, in Saltburn and Skelton Micro Cafe - as part of a £252m Government investment into bringing the information superhighway to deprived rural and inner city areas
