New Darlington manager Tommy Taylor has been dealt a huge blow with the news club captain Craig Liddle has been ruled until after new year.
The 30-year-old former Middlesbrough defender limped off during the Quakers' 1-0 defeat at home to Hull on Saturday.
At first it was thought Liddle had damaged tendons in his foot but further examinations have shown a fracture, which could rule him out for upto three months.
Liddle's injury is a massive setback for new boss Taylor, who takes charge of team affairs for the first time in tomorrow night's LDV Vans Trophy clash at Scunthorpe.
