A NORTH-East museum is hosting a series of events about life in Tibet.
The Oriental Museum, in Durham City, has invited painter Ang Tsherin Sherpa and photographer Mike Trickett to exhibit and talk about their works as part of its forthcoming Tibet season.
Ang Tsherin Sherpa is a thangka painter living in the US. It will be the first time he has exhibited in Europe.
Thangka paintings are Buddhist paintings on cloth, traditionally used for meditation in the monasteries of Tibet.
North-East photographer Mike Trickett has travelled extensively in China and Tibet and his works show life inside a Buddhist monastery.
He has photographed people and places usually off limits to Westerners, giving museum visitors a rare insight into Buddhist life.
Both exhibitions run from November 7 to January 30, with talks and workshops.
The museum is open from 10am to 5pm weekdays, and noon to 5pm at weekends. Admission is £1.50 for adults and 75p concessions
