FLOOR company Trade Sales UK has moved into new premises as the business goes from strength to strength.
The move has been backed by South Tyneside Council's economic development team, which has helped the company to secure funding to relocate and find its new base.
The company, started in 1999 by husband and wife team Ray and Christine Hillock, of North Shields, has moved into premises on the Blaydon Street Industrial Estate, in Jarrow, South Tyneside.
The new premises have allowed the company to store more stock, which helps to cut supply times to customers.
Mr Hillock said: "I had spent years on the road selling flooring solutions for other people and decided two years ago that the time was right to start up my own company.
"Since then, things have gone from strength to strength and we now employ 12 staff."
Trade Sales UK took advantage of the South Tyneside Economic Development Team's electronic database of industrial property to find the new premises. The team also helped source funds to finance the move.
"The database revealed a unit was available just around the corner from our former base, which made the move even easier," said Mr Hillock.
Councillor Jim Harper, lead member with responsibility for regeneration in South Tyneside, said: "The council is pleased to have been on hand to offer advice and support to Trade Sales UK and we wish them continued success for the future."
