PARENT power and two big cash donations have resulted in the installation of a new climbing frame at a Darlington nursery school.
The 130 part-time pupils at Borough Road Nursery saw the frame unveiled by Darlington Mayor, Councillor Isobel Hartley, on Tuesday after five years of fundraising by parents.
Sponsored walks, raffles, craft fairs and other events contributed to the fund.
The Mayor's Charity Shop, in Duke Street, donated £500 and a £2,500 standard fund grant from the Government helped then reach the £6,500 cost.
The frame is now in place in the garden at the back of the nursery, which staff, under the leadership of headteacher Lynn Millar, are continuing to develop.
