A GRAFFITI covered pedestrian subway in a North Yorkshire town is to be brightened up by youngsters.
Pupils from Northallerton College are designing a large mural to decorate, in the hope of deterring future vandalism.
About 15 youngsters have signed up to work on the subway, which links the high street with the county library.
They will work with artist and youth worker John Craggs, of North Yorkshire County Council's Connecting Youth Culture team.
"We are hoping to create something that appeals to everyone," said Mr Craggs.
"A lot of older people use the subway to get to the library, so we want something that will appeal to them as well as to young people.
