Roseberry 7 v 0 New Dales

Roseberry were determined to bounce back from last week's defeat, however they were without several of their regular youngsters who were playing in an Under-16 tournament at York. Roseberry dominated from the start with Katie Moon laying the ball off to supporting captain Sarah McDonald, who drove into space and opened the scoring after seven minutes. After a further five minutes in which Roseberry maintained possession and control Trish Alderson netted her first, from the push back Roseberry continued to pressure the New Dales defence with Kelly Parsons connected adding a third goal after 14 minutes; Trish Alderson scoring an impressive reverse stick flick after twenty three minutes. With two minutes remaining to half-time another Roseberry surge resulted in a fifth goal when youngster Lindsey Henry hit home her first goal of the game. With the resumption of the second half New Dales suffered an injury to Helen Mudd and they had to continue with ten players. Roseberry were awarded a long corner which was quickly taken by Steph Davies who crossed the ball and found Lindsey Henry unmarked to score her second after six minutes of play. And with three minutes of the game remaining New Dales conceded a penalty corner, which ended in a final goal for Roseberry by skipper McDonald.

Mackinlay 2 v 4 Thirsk

Visitors Thirsk started the game in fine form with their first goal coming from a high flick which was initially saved by goalkeeper Louise Larvin, with the ball dropping in front of her for a Thirsk player to play it back into the net. Thirsk continued to press forward and scored their third goal to take them into a comfortable lead at half-time.

With the resumption of play Mackinlay's determination was finally rewarded with a goal scored from open play by Marie Hargreaves. Mackinlay were again rewarded with a second goal when Sue Mason beat the Thirsk defence to put the ball into the net to bring the game back within their grasp. Thirsk had been awarded a penalty comer when the final whistle was blown, the corner had to be taken and in the dying seconds of the game Thirsk scored their fourth goal.
