A LORRY ended up hanging over an embankment after it crashed through a wall yesterday.
No one was hurt in the accident, which happened in a hilly part of Durham City at lunchtime.
The removals vehicle and the wall, in Back Western Hill, were badly damaged. The lorry was hanging over a 10ft drop.
A passer-by said: "It's amazing no one was killed or badly injured. I dread to think what would have happened if someone had been on the footpath or if a car had been coming the other way.
"The wall has gone completely and it will have to be rebuilt.''
Police were called and the vehicle was towed away.
Lorry owners, Durham haulage firm Nelson's, refused to comment
