SEVEN Sunderland youngsters visited the Houses of Parliament this week to make a presentation about their area to Sunderland South MP Chris Mullin.
The youngsters, who are part of the Pennywell Youth Participation Project, are pupils at St Anthony's, St Anne's and Pennywell schools.
The project targets youngsters between 11 and 21, teaching them a range of skills, including communication techniques and confidence building and it encourages them to get involved with decisions about their community.
The visit included a tour of the Houses of Parliament and a chance to sit in at Prime Minister's Question Time.
They presented Mr Mullin with the results of a survey they carried out about the facilities and activities available to young people in the South Hylton area
