CYBERCAFES in Sedgefield are to be given a boost by the local authority, to encourage more youngsters to use them.
Sedgefield Borough Council has agreed to continue financial support to cybercafes in Newton Aycliffe, Ferryhill, Shildon and Spennymoor.
The Coffeebean cafes offer internet access, computer games, information technology lessons, pool and satellite television.
Hundreds of youngsters use the cafes to socialise since the first one opened in Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre in August last year.
The council is also hoping to open a facility in Sedgefield Village in the near future
