DWINDLING church numbers and priests' vacancies were among issues raised with the Bishop of Whitby at an open meeting in east Cleveland earlier this week.
On Monday night, the Bishop of Whitby, the Right Reverend Robert Ladds, and the new Archdeacon of Cleveland, the Venerable Paul Ferguson, met with people from the 16 parishes which make up Guisborough Deanery.
The bishop gave lengthy, detailed answers, which meant the number of questions was reduced and introduced the parishioners to the new archdeacon.
Ken Brookefield, secretary of Guisborough Parochial Church Council, said: "It was a good meeting and most people were happy with the answers.
