A BOARD game has been launched to help raise teenagers' awareness of contraception and safe sex.
This week, pupils at Sunnydale Comprehensive School, Shildon, were introduced to Contraception: The Board Game, which was launched on October 26.
It aims to reduce teenage pregnancies and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
Game designer Barbara Hastings-Asatourian, a lecturer at the University of Salford, said: "The game offers young people the opportunity to discuss issues in a safe environment using language relating to sex, while building confidence."
She talked with 13-year-olds at Sunnydale School about the game.
She said: "Effective sex and relationship education is essential if young people are to make responsible and well-informed decisions about their lives."
