A COMMUNITY bus has been so successful that a second one is to be launched next month.
The Blitz Bus, which arrived on the streets of Darlington in 1999, has worked so well that another vehicle will be launched on December 7.
The new bus, which will be unveiled at Darlington Town Hall, has been designed by young people
The Blitz Bus 2 will cater for people aged between 13 and 25 and aims to contact youngsters on the streets.
Mike Moates, of the Darlington and District Youth and Community Association, said: "The first bus has been hugely successful. We received a Lottery bid recently to pay for the bus, and young people have designed the new vehicle themselves."
In the first year that the Blitz Bus was launched, more than 6,000 people made use of its services
