TWO plots of land formerly used as play areas are to be given to Darlington residents as extensions to their land.
Applications were made earlier this year by residents in Milbank Court to have the land incorporated into their properties.
Darlington Borough Council's planning committee granted an application for this to be done shortly afterwards.
Objectors to the proposal have until November 28 to voice their concerns.
A spokesman for the council said the land was no longer used for play and had become untidy.
Now the residents of 17 to 19 and 59 to 61 Milbank Court will have control of the land and responsibility for keeping it tidy, which the council believes will improve the look of the area.
Any objections must be sent to G L Metcalfe, estates and property manager, Development and Environment Department, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT.
