A HOSPITAL radio station is appealing to businesses to help it raise funds to refurbish its studio and provide patients with bedside headsets.
Radio Skerne, Darlington's hospital radio station, aims to raise thousands of pounds through a raffle, and is hoping local businesses will donate prizes.
The radio station wants to carry out refurbishment work on its studio, improve services for patients, and replace all its vinyl records with compact discs.
Fundraising manager Emily Bull said to raise enough funds the radio station would need the help of local businesses.
She said: "We really need businesses to help us out and provide prizes for the raffle.
"We are aiming to raise enough to get a new studio, provide patients with new headsets, which can cost £2,000 a ward, and also replace all our vinyl records. We need all the help we can get."
