Hamilton Row Black Horse shocked the visiting Championship contenders from Esh Stag's Head with an odd point home win.

After the trebles were shared the Horse had singles wins from Alan Brown, Paul Elliott, Tom Liddle and Steve Wilkie with the Stag's replying through David Platt and Tom March. The home side took the first doubles with the Stag's taking the last two.

The leading individual scorers were D Yeoman with 180 and two 140s for the New Market A and S Raine and G Hope with 140 each for the Station.

Newhouse Club lead the table by 13 points from Esh Stag's Head, who are nine points ahead of Tow Law New Market A.

Willington League

Hunwick Joiners Arms leapt to the top of the table after they beat the visiting former leaders from the Prospect Club by six points. The Joiners had singles wins from Kenny pears, Barry Moffatt, Paul Reidy and John Mason whilst the Prospect replied through Paul Morris and Trevor Bourne.

The Joiners extended their lead when they took the first two doubles through Ian Richardson with John Mason and Stuart Gill with Barry Moffatt.

The Prospect took the final doubles through Paul Morris and John Glasper. Things got worse for the visitors when they lost the team game and went down in the captain's game, where John Mason beat Trevor Bourne.

This victory has moved the Joiners Arms four points clear. After a great first half of the season, Willington Black Horse Inn have slipped from an unbeaten record to three defeats in a row.

The only maximums of the week came from Trevor Hutchinson of the Black Horse Tavern and Trevor Bourne of the Prospect Club.

Gail Abbott hit another 180 for the Crook Coach and Horses to help her team move into a 53 point lead at the top of the table. Tow Law New Market B are in second place, two points ahead of Crook Queen's Head.

League secratary, Irene Clark was in sparkling form with 180 and 140 for the Crook Coach and Horses, who were inspired to move up to third place in the table with a five points win at Crook Bar 56. Crook Golden Fleece remain at the top of the table with a five points advantage over Crook Royal Sun, who are eight points ahead of the Coach and Horses. The other leading individual scorers were Joan Mills with 140 and 123 for the Golden Fleece, Tracey Thompson 140 for the Royal Sun and Christine Ward 121 for Bar 56.

Christmas Mixed Doubles

The 48th inter-league darts competition will be held on Thursday, December 20 at the Fire Station Club and the host league will be Newcastle Premier League and the nominated charity will be Mind.

Games will be played on a treble board 501 up, start and finish on a double. All games will start at 7.30pm prompt and played as drawn. Any player not present when named will be substituted by a reserve. Captains and players of the first game to be present at 7.15pm.

All players are only allowed six practice arrows before each game.
