Darlington branch of the Workers' Educational Association has launched its January courses booklet.
Eight-week courses run at Bennet House, in Horsemarket, Darlington, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Tuesday sessions are on the history of jazz and medieval Normandy.
Wednesday offers sessions on the psychology of personality, the Victorian Age, embroidery, wars and revolutions in 19th Century Europe, family history and America at war, as well as a reprise of medieval Normandy.
Thursday's courses are Silver and Iron, Conflict in the Cathedral - Turbulent Times at Durham 1660 to 1939, Brief Chronicles, and A Pleasant Market Town on the Great North Road.
