A PLEA for people in Crook to help sell tickets for a fundraising New Year's Eve party has been made by Wear Valley District Council chairman Wilf Dobinson.
Councillor Dobinson said: "We have only sold 80 tickets, but we need to sell 140 to break even. If we cannot sell the tickets we will be running at a loss. I need the people of Crook to support me like they have in the past.''
Showband Rascals will take to the stage for the event at the Elite Hall, Crook, from 7.30pm to 1am, to boost funds for local charities chosen by Coun Dobinson.
People can either pay at the door on the night or contact Coun Dobinson on (01388) 764353. Tickets for the event cost £7 each.
