Inter-League competition
The 48th inter-league darts competition was held on December 20 at the Fire Station Club where a large crowd watched some excellent darts playing. The eventual winner was the Magnet League who fought back in the final to win the competition for the 13th time. Money raised on the night will be donated to the local charity, Mind.
First semi-final: Magnet 6, Premier 3.
Winners for Magnet: K Bradding, J Carmichael, G Smith, G Davison, A Kelly and J Goddard and for Premier M Loughboro, C McCabe, K Foster.
Second semi-final: Friday A 5, Alliance 4.
Alliance were leading 4-2 but wins by A Binks, J Jackson and M Durham put the Friday night team in the final. The feature of the match was the fine playing of the lady darts payer D Bolam.
Final: Magnet 6, Friday Night 3.
Magnet swept into a 3-1 lead with wins by J Bannister, T Kachal and J Carmichael, but B Wood and N Makepeace hit back to even the score only to see J Goddard, T Whitehead and G Davison clinch victory and the trophy for Magnet
