AN armed robber was jailed for nine years yesterday after holding up supermarket staff and ordering terrified customers to lie on the floor as he threatened to blow their heads off.
Robert Vogan, 41, of Grosvenor Road, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, also attempted to rob a night porter at the town's Esplanade Hotel after producing a gun and held up a petrol station in London, York Crown Court heard.
Judge Paul Hoffman said that although the guns were imitation, staff threatened at the Tesco store in Scarborough thought they were real.
Vogan's nine-year sentence will follow 16 months licence recall from a previous five-year sentence for robbery imposed by Lambeth Crown Court, added the judge. Vogan admitted all the offences.
David Bradshaw, for Vogan said he had an anti-social personality. He had expected a substantial prison sentence
