A CHURCH which celebrated its 125th anniversary last year is appealing for help to pay for essential restoration work.
St James the Great Church, in Albert Hill, Darlington, is raising funds to help with the continuation of renovation of two stained glass window on the south side of the nave.
The cost is more than £36,000, and officials are appealing for help with the finance of that and other work.
A spokesman said: "Please help as we try to restore St James to its former glory.
"There is so much to do - but we are getting there. It costs well over £1,100 per week to keep St James Church open in 2002."
Anyone who would like to make a donation is asked to contact the church on (01325) 465980.
