A BAR chain is to create hundreds of new jobs with the opening of eight outlets across the UK.

The Durham City company Hollathan's, which already employs about 150 people, will create more than 300 jobs in a £4m expansion plan.

The news follows the success of its outlet in Durham City and the recent opening of a £750,000 bar and restaurant in Liverpool.

Director Keith Willcock said: "Everything in Hollathan's is chosen to reassure and reward the customer.

"We always cater for the customer, whether that is the menu, the cutlery chosen or even the toilet facilities.

"We're already successfully established in Durham and this is a natural step in our expansion plans."

The firm, which was set up in 1999, is looking at Yorkshire as a possible location
