BEACH babies were out in force on Saturday morning helping to clean up the coastline at Saltburn.
A group of hardy volunteers - many from the Saltburn 500 Club - braved the cold weather to pick up more than 200kgs of rubbish from a stretch of beach on the sea front.
Litter picker Jackie Taylor, of Cleveland Street, Saltburn, said: "We had a very good turnout this year, we were really pleased. There were about 22 people, including children and two surfers.
"There was quite a lot of rubbish - we filled a skip with it.
"The most unusual items were probably the four wheels we found, plus lots of bits of iron and plastic piping."
The clean-up takes place at Saltburn four times a year and the next one will be in April.
