VOLUNTEERS are needed to take part in some daredevil charity challenges.

The Calvert Trust Kielder is offering people the chance to tackle raging rapids or jump from a plane at 10,000ft.

The Northumberland-based trust organises adventure holidays in the Kielder Forest for people with disabilities and needs people to take part in the challenges to raise money.

A team of six is needed to tackle the rapids and those who raise £100 in sponsorship can take part for free.

People can also take part in either a tandem skydive from 10,000ft, or a solo jump from up to 3,000ft. The jumps can be performed from one of 23 British Parachute Association approved airfields in the country and no experience is necessary, but volunteers need to raise between £260 and £330 to have a go for free.
