SHE may only be a youngster, but Gertie, a German short-haired pointer, is fast proving herself a pup to be reckoned with in the dog-show world.
She already has three show wins under her collar and is now through to the final of her most important event yet.
Later this week, she will leave her home in Topcliffe, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and travel to London for the Pup of the Year competition.
Gertie is owned by Irene Glen and David Shields and, as well as looking good, she also has plenty of charisma.
"She loves digging in the garden and helping with DIY," said Irene.
"We have to channel her energy in so many directions. She loves her showing but she also loves to organise us."
The Pup of the Year competition is sponsored by Friskies Beta and Dog World newspaper and heats have been taking place across the country.
More than 10,000 dogs between six and 12 months old were entered for the contest but only 28 have been selected for the final
