GIFTS donated by one of the region's leading bus operators have helped deprived children in Eastern Europe enjoy a happier Christmas.
Staff at Go North East, in Gateshead, collected enough presents to give 20 children in poorer parts of Europe a Christmas to remember.
The gifts were distributed by the charity Operation Christmas Child which welcomes contributions from individuals or companies.
Yvonne Dixon, spokeswoman for Go North East, said: "Go North East is delighted to assist local charities and community groups, and while on this occasion our support is going further afield, we sincerely hope the gifts donated by our staff members ensured a memorable Christmas for the children who received them."
