A MAN accused of using a Samurai sword as a weapon in an incident at his partner's home was ordered to be tried by a judge and jury when he appeared before magistrates in Harrogate yesterday.
Geoffrey Morris, 36, of Knaresborough Road, Harrogate, pleaded not guilty to possession of the sword as an offensive weapon, affray and two counts of assault, involving Rachel Morris and Gary Wilson.
Magistrates adjourned the hearing to February 8, when three more men are due in court accused of affray.
All four are then expected to be sent to York Crown Court for trial. Mr Morris was granted bail on condition he stays away from Rachel Morris.
