PEOPLE can still nominate under-18s for the Positive Young People Awards 2002.

The awards will mark the achievements of young people from Darlington, with six winners being announced at a ceremony at Darlington Civic Theatre on March 25.

They will all receive cash prizes to be donated to the charities of their choice.

Youngsters can be nominated in three categories; contribution to the community, outstanding achievement and against all odds, with awards for under-12s and under-18s in each of the categories.

The competition is being run by youth group PS2K, with The Northern Echo, the Darlington Partnership and Darlington Borough Council's community education department.

Nominees must be under 18 on the day of the ceremony and must have given their time voluntarily.

The deadline for nominations is January 31. Forms should be sent to: James Gilby, PS2K, Community Education, Darlington Borough Council, Town Hall, Feethams, Darlington, DL1 5QT.
