A REVISED scheme for a house to the rear of Richmond's historic buildings is still too large for the location, Richmondshire planning committee has decided.
Talks will now take place in a bid to come up with an acceptable proposal for a three-storey house behind York House, at the bottom of the market place.
There was praise for the applicant, Christine Swift, and her husband, who four years ago turned the listed York House from a semi-derelict shell into a complex of antiques and art units and a cafe.
The committee granted listed building consent for a former workshop and warehouse to be converted into a workshop and two studio apartments.
Members also agreed to delegate authority to senior planners to negotiate a satisfactory scheme for the house.
