ON the premises of the school there is an information communication technology (ICT) training centre.
Teachers from all over Darlington come for ICT training. Known as the e-learning centre, it has a lot of courses to improve teachers' knowledge of computing.
There are courses for understanding spreadsheets and databases; and for the beginner a course entitled First Steps with the PC.
There is training for control technology, interactive whiteboards and loads of other courses.
In charge of the centre is Michael White, who is an advisory teacher in ICT. There are two curriculum support teachers. To add to that, there are an e-learning projects co-ordinator and three technical support officers.
